A projects before decision 2024
Category A projects in accordance with the OECD Common Approaches, i.e. projects with potentially significant environmental, social or human rights impacts, are published no later than 30 days before a final decision on whether to issue a UFK guarantee. Subsequent cover commitments are not included in this list.

12.7.2024, Construction and operation of a mine for the extraction of rare earth minerals, Australia
The project consists of a mine, a process plant (comprising beneficiation, extraction and separation plants) and the related infrastructure to be constructed and located at the Nolans site, 135 kilometres north of Alice Springs in Australia’s Northern Territory. It is planned to produce 4,440 tons of NdPr oxide, 470 tons of a mixed medium-heavy rare earth oxide (SEG/HRE) and 144,000 tons of phosphoric acid annually. 1.3.2024, expansion and operation of a copper mine, Chile
The project involves the substantial expansion and operation of a copper mine by developing two additional open-pit mines. Seven open-pit mines already exist at the site. The project site is located approx. 180 km north-east of the city of Antofagasta and 21 km west of the town of Sierra Gorda within the Atacama Desert at an altitude of around 2,300 m above sea level.
